The upcoming process to select the District Governor for the first year of the new District, commencing 1 July 2028.
Assuming the current redistricting ballot is successful, our three existing Districts will transition to a single, expanded District incorporating:
•     All of Queensland
•     Two New South Wales communities along the Queensland border (Tweed Heads and Kingscliff)
•     The Island Nations of Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Naoero.
This will be one of the most geographically diverse Districts in our region, and the inaugural District Governor will play a foundational role in shaping how the new District supports Clubs in delivering impactful Rotary service.
Clubs are invited to encourage suitably qualified Rotarians to consider nomination for this important leadership role.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to Rotary’s future across Queensland and our neighbouring Island Nations.
The Call for Nominations is expected to be called in early September.
